“First Date” is a perfect way to make a good first impression and get to know the person you like. Inviting someone out on a date or rather being invited on a date is very flattering. Although past norms claim the male should be the one to plan a date nowadays we all know that is not necessarily so. Dates can be planned by either guy or girl and there is no more issue about who pays and who drives anymore. Things are becoming more equal and for good reason.
It is important to go out on a date to get to know the other person in a different level. Dating will let you spend quality time together. In doing so, you will have an opportunity to determine the two of you have chemistry or have some common interests.
There is no perfect rule for a successful date. However, certain guidelines can help to make it worthwhile for both of you. Here are some tips for a planning an impressive first date:
1. Dress pleasant and comfortably. The first thing is plan how you will look on your date. Physical looks usually decide the first impression.
2. The goal for a first date is to get to know each other a little. The ambience should be ideal for a good conversation. Avoid going on a crowded or noisy place like in a movie or live concert. To make it less uncomfortable, find a fun place where both of you can be relaxed.
3. Pick a nice and safe place to eat. Definitely, your date would include a lunch or dinner meal. When you go out for a lunch or dinner date, you can have much time to have a chat with your partner. A nice restaurant with appetizing foods but not necessarily a fine-dining one would be a good choice.
4. Consider bringing a present. Giving a small gift on a date is a generous and sweet act, and it is something that will make your time together more memorable for your new friend. But don’t make it too formal or expensive, something very simple and casual, like a delicious chocolate or choose from countless treats and delicacies that you could give and or share. Give the present at the end of the date or just before waving good bye.
5. Keep your budget in mind. Going on a date does not need to be too expensive. Just be creative to think of special but not expensive type of date. If you are the guy, make sure you will be first to offer to pay the bill and if you are the girl, tell your partner to allow you to pay at least part or half the bill.
6. Be true about yourself. Since the first goal of first date is to get to know each other, it is very important to show your true self. While you are making a good impression to your date but at the same time, you would also want to be real and your partner to you as well.
7. Give time for each other to talk. Do not make the conversation monotonous. Try to find topics that both of you are interested to talk about. Only when he/she speaks, you will know his/her personality, interests, likes and dislikes and so on.
Leaving a good first impression with your date can take things to the next level. You might even expect more dates soon after. Just remember the given ideas and you should be off to a good start. It could be the beginning of a new romantic relationship or great friendship.
