Dates are typically conducted to know more about the person you are seeing. It is usually the first phase of being into a relationship. There is a proper etiquette and there are words that should and shouldn’t be said on the first date. And, you must know some or all of those things since it can make or break you future in the love department. Here are some rules that you must follow on your first date. Rule 1: Never Talk About Your Ex.  Remember that you are there for a new relationship; you are there for the person that you are in love at the present time. Thus, it is improper to talk about your past relationships. He or she is neither your crying shoulder nor the complaint section. However, if your date asks you about your past relationship, it is up to you to tell but do not share the whole story! And don’t bad-mouth your ex even though she or he is really a jerk. Rule 2: Never Drink Too Much. It is Ok to drink on your first date. However, you should watch out for the amount of alcohol that you have taken in or you might end up in your apartment without a future date. It is typical for a person to be talkative when they have a few alcohols in their mouth wherein they already talk nonsense. There are also times that the person is revealing too many personal secrets or information about the past relationship way too soon. Rule 3: Never Check Out Other’s Dates. Hello!!! You are in a date yourself. What would you feel if your date is eyeing someone behind your back? So, don’t do that to your date as well. It’s kind of disrespectful for that person that you are with. It’s like you’re saying into his or her face that “you are not my type anymore”. So, save the eyeing thing for some other time, when you are not in a date. Rule 4: Never Leave Your Date. Even for a short period of time, never leave your date since she or he might feel uncomfortable or bored. Thus, avoid bringing your laptop or even your mobile phone while you are on a date. Just leave it in your car or put it in silent mode so that you can still answer important calls. But, don’t talk too long. Inform your caller that you are in the middle of a date and you will be happy to return a call. The rules may go on depending on your personality and behavior. However, those four rules are of vital importance that you should follow. In addition, you can still follow other rules or tips on dating. The most important is you have to respect your date no matter what.
